Type Locality and Naming
Western Fujian. Chen Kai erected the Chishi bed in 1943 and attributed it to the Paleogene. In 1965 the Fujian Regional Geological Survey Team recalled it the Chishi Group. During the stratigraphic sorting of Fujian in 1994, the Chishi Group was divided in ascending order into three formations: the Junkou Fm, Shaxian Fm and Chongan Fm, and assigned them to Cretaceous.
